Orthodontic treatment isn’t just beneficial for teenagers and adults, it’s important for children too. The earlier your child sees an orthodontist, the earlier any potential orthodontic problems can be identified.
The British Orthodontic Society recommends children have their first orthodontic consultation between the ages of seven and 11 while their teeth and jaws are still developing.
Orthodontic treatment is available via the NHS for children under the age of 18. However, they must meet criteria as set out in the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Needs (IOTN). This Index is designed for children who have serious orthodontic problems that have the potential to affect their overall health and well-being.
At The Brace, we treat children on the NHS, but there are some limitations to this service:
We provide an excellent standard of care for those who are referred to us for NHS orthodontic treatment and have been recognised for:
If you, or your child, would like to be treated under the NHS please ask your dentist to refer you to us.
If your child does not qualify for orthodontic treatment under the NHS we can still treat them as a private patient, which brings added benefits:
If you are under 18 but do not qualify for treatment under the NHS, we can offer metal braces for a reduced fee of £2200. This includes all appointments, x-rays and removable plastic retainers. Additional fees apply if treatment is complicated.
To make private orthodontic treatment affordable, we offer 0% interest-free payment plans to help spread the cost.
