Lingual Braces

"Lingual" comes from Latin and means on the side towards the tongue. Lingual orthodontics refers to the correction of malaligned teeth by means of fixed braces bonded to the inner side of the teeth.

Lingual braces are made of gold and all of the metal work is invisible. This makes lingual braces a popular cosmetic alternative to standard braces, and of course, allows your teeth to be straightened without any visible sign of treatment.

Lingual braces are not just for the sake of vanity, they serve the same purpose as traditional braces but have the great added benefit of being invisible. Lingual braces are cared for in much the same way as normal more traditional braces. Softer foods are advised and it can take a few weeks to adjust to how they feel in your mouth.
